LISS DTP- London Interdisciplinary Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership Open Case Competition

This is a fantastic opportunity open to final year undergraduates or master’s students who have a unique project outline. The Open Case Competition is run in partnership with the Economic and Social Research Council, King’s College London, Queen Mary University of London, and Imperial College London.

Approximately 60 candidates are funded annually and a financial stipend of approximately £19,668 paid annually, whilst academic fees are covered, and additional funding is also available.

To apply for this opportunity, you must also apply for admission to an institution of your choice and on a relevant course. Application details are linked below, with an accompanying required form to also be completed.

Policy Idol 2024

This competition is open to all students wanting to pitch policy ideas. Topics must be related to peace and justice, climate action and sustainability, technology, equality, and social mobility and in relation to physical and mental health.

4 cash prizes are available. For the pitching to a panel of policy ideas, academics and professionals (£250), the analysis (£500) and the deliverance of policy ideas (£500) and for the winner (£1,000). By pitching your policy ideas, you will receive expert feedback, advice and training from academics and industry professionals.

Women in War and International Politics

Submissions are wanted for publications for the Women in War and International Politics (WiWIP) blog, which relates to gender within conflict, security, and international politics. Articles wanted for publication are around 800 to 2,000 words. These articles are required to have an abstract, as well as citations in the form of the Harvard style added within your text and in brackets.

Also, film or book reviews, poetry, and interviews for the E-Journal should be between 500-800 words. These should be emailed to wiwip-kcl@kcl.ac.uk

Deadline: 1 March 2024 for publications to be added on 8 March 2024.
