We collaborate Dental phobia is the world’s most common phobia, affecting approx. 10% of the population worldwide. Health psychologists collaborating with King’s academics, clinicians and patients have developed a model using cognitive behavioural therapy to enable phobic and anxious patients to access dental care. The CBT service is now available at many NHS facilities across the UK.
We serve We’re committed to service in society. Dental decay is a huge hidden burden – not often life threatening, but still the most common disease in the world with huge social and economic burdens. The King’s-led Global Collaboratory for Caries Management works with the Alliance for a Cavity Free Future, the ICDAS Foundation and other partners to reduce this burden across "upstream" changes in global and local policies to guidance for healthcare teams providing preventive dental medicine in clinical and community settings.
