It’s coming, it’s here:
JCMB’s shut on 17th, first on-line teaching on 20th
Colleague supporting the ‘chat’, students engaged and appreciative.
Pregnant women shielding, arriving at hospital later.
Midwives supporting, (partners not allowed)
Quick normal births, discharge in 3 hours, women calm, breast feeding successes.
Daughter ill at home with covid, self -isolating, furloughed, post-viral fatigue, comes home to convalesce.
16 weeks later tentative return to supportive on-line work environment.
It’s here and it’s staying:
Economic and health catastrophes globally and locally. Societal, work and personal boundaries
A new educational pedagogy is birthed at uni
An increase in stillbirths? medicalisation sets in again
Sewing machine has pride of place, crochet hooks, teaching on-line meditations and Gareth Malone! Painting materials and piano waiting in the wings
26 new projects created and counting, experimenting, adventurous.
Playful outlet sustaining mental and emotional health.
