The Arcade, Bush House
The Arcade at Bush House opened in September 2017 at the heart of the former BBC World Service HQ as a new, interactive cultural space for King’s students and staff.
Part of the King's Cultural Quarter, the Arcade is home to a varied programme of events, installations and exhibitions, offering a forum where students, the academic community and the public can engage with each other, as well as with artists and cultural partners.
Also housing a welcoming café and the KCLSU Shop, the Arcade offers a direct connection with research and collaborative activity taking place across the university, and provides a space on the Strand for conversation, reflection and engagement.
The Arcade is the gateway to Bush House, a state-of-the-art education and learning facility on King’s Strand Campus. With up to 1,000 students per hour passing through the entranceway, the Arcade offers a unique opportunity for visitors to connect and create, perform and sometimes simply pause.
The Arcade sits facing the Strand/Aldwych pedestrianised space, which is currently in development as a new cultural and learning space in the heart of London, which will showcase King’s research and education initiatives as part of a joined up programme with its cultural neighbours. The focus of this new public realm space will be on enhancing research and learning, through developing innovative new ways of engaging with communities and creating impact.
