King's Culture

A specialist team working across King's, including at Science Gallery London and across the Strand Cultural Quarter, to facilitate cultural collaborations for research, impact and education across London and beyond.


 

 

 

Leading the team

Beatrice Pembroke is responsible for the successful implementation of the cultural strategy to deliver on the research, education and service ambitions set out in King’s Vision 2029. She provides leadership for King’s Culture team, which includes the Strand Cultural Quarter and Science Gallery London.

Alison Duthie is responsible for developing and implementing King’s programme of public facing cultural activity. She works in collaboration with faculties and students and in partnership with artists and cultural organisations to deliver on King's core priorities of research, education and service.

Dan Walker has overall responsibility for the Culture team’s financial operations, procurement, planning, business operations, HR and legal functions and ensures the smooth and efficient running of the department.

 

 

Dr. Johanna Kieniewicz leads the Culture team’s work to support, strengthen and showcase cultural collaborations in teaching and research across King’s.

Nikki Crane leads the Creative Health work at King’s, bringing together a network of staff, students and healthcare professionals across King’s with an interest in this area.

Lucy Donoughue leads the communications and marketing strategy for King's Culture, to ensure its work reaches the widest possible audience across and beyond the university.

Matt Fryer provides expert business operations advice to enable the successful delivery of the cultural strategy, working as part of the cross-cutting and strategic partnerships unit within King’s Culture.

Laura L'Aimable supports the development of skills across King’s cultural community by providing advice, guidance, training, mentoring and brokerage activity, empowering staff to increase the impact of their research through cultural collaborations.

Tamsin Lee-Woolfe coordinates projects such as events, exhibitions and research programmes. She also provides key logistical, financial and communications support across King's Culture.

Debra Barretto provides expert financial and business support to the Culture team including financial management, administration and office management.

 

 

Leanne Hammacott is responsible for the creative, curatorial and administrative management of the public programme of cultural activity across the Strand campus and beyond, working with faculties and students to determine the direction of the programme.

Jocelyn Cheek is responsible for the production of cultural activity across the Strand campus, showcasing King's content and creating meaningful touchpoints for a range of audiences.

Georgina Wright coordinates projects such as events, exhibitions and research programmes. Georgina also provides key logistical, financial and communications support across King's Culture.

 

Jen runs the exhibition and event programme. She has a background in exhibition development and experience production, a degree in Natural Sciences, and an M.Phil in History & Philosophy of Science.

Laura Purseglove is a curator/producer with a focus on research-led and participatory practices.

Stella joined the Science Gallery London in July 2022 as their Marketing and Communications Lead. A passionate marketeer, she is a digital marketing expert who has worked in the arts, culture and charity sectors for over a decade.
