Alumni
Alumni from the Department of Classics at King’s have traditionally embarked upon an exceptionally diverse range of careers.
Our alumni community includes lawyers, theatre directors, accountants, photographers, civil servants, teachers (of Classics and of other subjects), museum curators, academics, poets, playwrights – to mention just a few of our recent graduates.
Modern working lives rarely involve one single ‘job for life’, and our Classics alumni prove that their degrees have equipped them for this. They have the transferrable skills, imagination, and drive to tailor excitingly varied career paths that are both intellectually and financially rewarding.
Our alumni stay in touch with the department through multiple channels. Alumni attend social occasions such as the ‘Winter Formal’ organised by the Classics Society, and help out at networking events held in the department. Every year the incredible bonding experience that is the King’s Greek Play also brings together current and past student participants.
Undergraduate Alumna Anastasia Christou has taken an interesting career path to champion the subject in Hong Kong, where learning classical languages, notably Ancient Greek and Latin, is rare. Read her story here.
