Diversity and Inclusion

Addressing the challenges faced by marginalised groups in the workplace, in the economy and in public services is a key theme in our research. It is vital to us that we reflect these concerns in our own community, and it is our goal to create a fair and inclusive culture where all our staff and students are able to thrive.

Staff are encouraged to get involved in King’s many staff support and advocacy networks. In addition to our own Women@KBS network, these include Proudly King's LGBTQ+ Network, the Race Equality Network,  Access King's Disability Inclusion Network, Elevate, King’s Gender Equality Network, and NEST the network for parents and carers.

We offer our students a voice in creating a curriculum that reflects global perspectives and their own diverse experiences through our Inclusive Education Student Partner scheme.

There are several initiatives to ensure that  all students achieve their full potential both academically and professionally, and our support for the King’s Student Union’s Women in Business and Finance society.

Our actions for a fair and inclusive culture are supported by King’s Business School’s Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion committee.

The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee brings together staff and students to plan, promote, and implement key diversity initiatives and make positive change for the whole King’s Business School community. If you have any questions concerning EDI at the Business School, or would like to get involved with the committee, please contact our Associate Dean, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Dr Madeleine Wyatt.

King's Business School received the Bronze Award with Advance HE's Athena SWAN charter in autumn 2023. The award marks the School’s efforts towards promoting, rewarding and recognizing gender equality diversity and inclusion across the faculty, while providing a steer on how we can direct our gender equality plans in the future.

Women@KBS network is a gender inclusive support hub to foster women’s careers and leadership aspirations in King’s Business School. The network collaborates with external partners who offer developmental workshops and thought-provoking discussion around women’s equality, diversity, and inclusion. To find out more about Women@KBS, please contact Professor Sally Everett.

King’s Business School is an active member of the Chartered Association for Business School’s Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion committee. The committee involves connecting with leaders in other business schools to share and promote best practice to enhance social justice, responsible management, and inclusion in business education.
