The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience is one of the world’s leading centres for mental health and related neurosciences research. All of our postgraduate research students operate in world-class facilities, and benefit from fantastic support networks and training opportunities, including the Researcher Development Programme (RDP). The RDP provides our students with a range of training and development courses, aimed at enhancing personal, professional and career skills.

The Department of Biostatistics & Health Informatics (BHI) seeks to develop quantitative methodology as applied to mental health research, with significant national and international collaborations and with growing impact into all areas of medicine particularly through expertise in trials and software development. The Department is organised into two groups (the Biostatistics Group and the Health Informatics Group) who work closely together on research projects. The Department is a leader in the education of methodology, applied statistics and health informatics.
