Real-world research impact and engagement

In the Research Excellence Framework 2021, 95 per cent of our research impact was judged 'world leading' (4*) and 'internationally excellent' (3*).

Our researchers create impact through enhancing public access, understanding and engagement — through shaping programming, creative and critical practice in the performing, literary and visual arts — in theatre, music, film and literature.

Our research also influences policy, engages in political and educational practice, and promotes diverse forms of social engagement.

Impact Acceleration Account

The Arts & Humanities Impact Acceleration Account at King’s is a grant provided by the Arts & Humanities Research Council, part of UK Research & Innovation, for creative impact activities linked to research.

This projects aims are to:

maximise the cultural and societal impact — reaching underrepresented audiences.
extend existing, and create new, strategic partnerships to conduct impact activities that meet the needs of audiences in London and globally.
create new opportunities for impact, to extend our use of virtual platforms, enabling us to widen access, and enhance our understanding of how to generate impact in digital environments.
Sustain, accelerate and communicate an impact culture, extending impact literacy in the Arts and Humanities community, from postgraduate research level upwards through tailored training courses.
