Physics collaboration wins NMI Prize

Eltek Semiconductors Ltd. have won the 2014 NMI prize for research collaboration with a university, for a project carried out in collaboration with the Department of Physics at King’s College London. The work has pointed to methods of commercialisation of high temperature capable electronic systems using industry standard materials and platings. The project was considered a success in adding to the industry knowledge base in sintered die attach materials and in leading to further academic and industrial research and development, as well as to the exploitation of the technology in a growing market. The collaboration was vital as neither party could have completed the work as successfully on their own. The academic team consisted of Prof. Samjid Mannan and PhD student Mr. Amir Paknejad, from the Experimental Biophysics & Nanotechnology research group.
