Second year Adult Nursing Student shares his experience
Second year Adult Nursing Student Jack shares his experience of why he chose to sutdy with us.
My name is Jack, I am currently a second year Adult Nursing Student with King’s College London. I lived on the Isle of Man before coming to King’s and being able to study in London was an exciting experience and a wonderful start to my Degree. I have always been interested in working in a hospital environment and since my placements, I have wanted to pursue a career as a trauma nurse. Like yourselves I am sure, I had trouble deciding what degree I wanted to do; the benefits of nursing are that not only do you get a degree at the end of the three years, you have the prospect of going further into your studies. Also, the teaching style of the course is very tailored to how I learn; your personal tutor will always be there when you have any questions and you can easily reach them by email 24/7.
Some of you may ask yourself the question, why should I study Nursing with King’s?
- It is the best university for my course according to the QS university rankings, and I am proud to be a part of the faculty that makes the course so enjoyable.
- The placement locations are at some of the best teaching hospitals in London. For example: My host trust is with King’s College Hospital, where they have the largest resuscitation unit in London. It is fantastic being able to work alongside the multi-disciplinary team and making a difference to the patient’s life.
- There are excellent opportunities at King’s for research and going into further qualification. Recently, the Cicely Saunders Institute joined our faculty and this I think shows King’s development and research are constantly progressing and I thoroughly look forward to learn more about palliative care.
- Being trained at King’s will give me fantastic job prospects all over the UK and internationally.
- King’s is very multi-cultural university, there are students from all over the world. I was born in Shanghai and moved to the U.K. when I was young and just being able to have the chance to meet so many fellow students from China has really helped me learn about the difference in culture.
