Professor Patricia Davidson to receive Honorary Degree from King's College London
Professor Patricia Davidson, Dean of the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing is among those receiving an honorary degree from King’s this October.
Professor Davidson is one of the most influential deans of nursing. She has established a programme of research in supporting individuals living with chronic conditions and developing innovative models of transitional care, and improve the cardiovascular health of underserved populations through development of innovative, acceptable, and sustainable initiatives internationally. In the last fifteen years she has secured over $10 million in research grants and co-authored 320-plus peer-reviewed journal articles, 20 book chapters, and more than 100 peer-reviewed abstracts.
Professor Ian Norman, Executive Dean of the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery & Palliative Care said:
“I am delighted to present Professor Patricia Davidson at the forthcoming Honorary Degree Ceremony at which she will receive awarded a Doctor of Science degree from King’s. Patricia Davidson is the Dean at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing in Maryland, Baltimore. She is a global leader in cardio-vascular health for women and vulnerable populations, and is widely regarded as one of the foremost nurse academics in the world.
Patricia has been a member of the Faculty’s International Advisory Board and in that role has supported the Faculty’s activities and our early career researchers. This is only the second time that an academic nurse has received an Honorary Degree from King’s in recent years, the last one being Professor Linda Aiken from the University of Pennsylvania, in 2015”.
The ceremony takes place on Wednesday 24 October 2018.
