Award for Nursing Scientist 2018 in Finland is given to project involving Faculty
Post-doctoral researcher Marja Härkänen from the Department of Nursing Science at the University of Eastern Finland (funded by the Academy of Finland) received the Award for Nursing Scientist 2018 (promotor of nursing science) in a XV National Nursing Conference in Finland in recognition of a profitable and active postdoctoral nursing research.
The study investigates medication administration related contributing factors in incident reports by big data methods, in international co-operation with King's College London's research team, including Professor of Nursing Policy Anne Marie Rafferty and Faculty statistician Trevor Murrells. The study used text mining to identifying the medication that is most commonly related to medication administration errors, using big data from a national database.
The project continues, with plans to include Finnish data.
