Academics recognised for excellence in teaching
Congratulations to Ian Noonan, Sheila Turner and Ehsan Khan on being awarded King's Teaching Excellence Awards. The Teaching Excellence Awards give students the opportunity to nominate staff for their exceptional work in different areas of teaching and learning. This year, a very high number of statements of support were received from students in the Faculty, nominating staff in different categories.
The winners were selected in three categories, including:
- Innovation in Teaching: Ian Noonan, Lecturer and Head of the Department of Mental Health Nursing
- Quality Feedback: Sheila Turner, Lecturer in Adult Nursing
- Education Experience: Dr Ehsan Khan, Lecturer in Adult Nursing
The Teaching Excellence Awards were first introduced in 2002 as part of King’s Learning and Teaching strategy. The recipients are selected from the student nominations, for their excellent and engaging teaching.
Dr Carole Jackson, Chair of the Faculty Panel, commented: "We had to make some very difficult decisions in creating a shortlist as the comments highlighted, in a multitude of ways, how impactful every nominee had been on the student experience and how much this was valued by our student community."
