King's ranked top in the UK and third in the world for nursing

Nursing at King’s has been ranked first in the UK and third in the world in the 2017 QS World University Rankings.

The QS rankings highlight the world’s top universities across 46 popular subject areas; this is only the second year that Nursing has been included in the subject list. Institutions are assessed on academic reputation, citations to publications, and employer reputation to give an overall score.

King’s Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery scored 92.8% overall, with 100% for academic reputation and 93.4% for citations per paper.

Executive Dean of the Faculty Professor Ian Norman said, “I am delighted that our contribution to education, research and service has been recognised by being ranked by QS as the top faculty in the UK for nursing for the second consecutive year, and amongst the top three faculties in the world. The work we do helps strengthen the nursing and midwifery professions and improve their cumulative impact on healthcare globally. Our staff and students can be proud of this mark of recognition, since this success is down to the collective efforts of our whole community.”

The QS World University Rankings by Subject has been published annually since 2011.
