King's ranked second in the world for nursing
Nursing at King’s has been ranked second in the world in the 2017 Centre for World University Rankings (CWUR), and top in the UK.
The inaugural CWUR rankings by subject highlight the world’s leading universities in the sciences and social sciences. The CWUR ranks universities in 227 categories, based on the number of citations of their research articles in top-tier journals.
The Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery at King’s College London scored 91.61 overall.
Executive Dean of the Faculty Professor Ian Norman said, "Following closely on the heels of our recent rise to third place in the QS World University Subject Rankings, this new CUWR ranking of second in the world for nursing and midwifery is further recognition of the excellence of our education and also our contribution to the evidence base of professional nursing and midwifery through research. These rankings are a true achievement, which is down to the collective efforts of our community. I want to extend my thanks and congratulations to all staff – academic and professional services - for their individual contributions to our success in these world rankings."
This is the first year of the subject rankings by the CWUR. The CWUR publish their global university rankings annually.
King’s has also been ranked 3rd in the world for nursing in the QS world university rankings by subject 2017, and top in the UK.
