Professor Ian Norman joins King's Fellowship elite
Professor Ian Norman, Interim Dean of the Faculty, was awarded a Fellowship of King’s College London at Tuesday’s graduation ceremony (21 July).
Professor Norman was presented to those attending the graduation ceremony by Professor Shitij Kapur, (Executive Dean of the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience) who said: “Through his work as a researcher, journal editor, educator and clinician, Professor Noman has made an outstanding contribution to the development of nursing, especially in the fields of mental-health nursing practice, interdisciplinary studies and the promotion of nursing scholarship.”
The award of a Fellowship of King’s, which dates back to 1847, marks contributions by exceptional individuals to King’s and/or to the wider society.
The Fellowship is awarded to current or former staff, students and members of King’s Council, in recognition of their exceptional achievement and/or service rendered to the College.
Graduates, staff and guests attended the ceremony at London’s Barbican Centre, which saw Bachelors, Masters, Postgraduate Diplomas and Doctorates awarded, as well as Honorary Degrees, Fellowships and special awards to students recognised for their achievements.
Successes of members of the Faculty highlighted at the graduation included:
- Catherine Oakley awarded the Elsevier Outstanding PhD thesis prize.
- Michelle Price awarded the Associateship of King’s College London.
- Alexis Prince awarded the Maud Taylor Prize.
- Jacqueline Sin awarded the Elsevier Outstanding PhD Thesis Prize.
