Midwifery journal ranked in Top 20 for impact

The journal Midwifery was placed 13th out of 110 nursing journals listed in the Thomson Reuters 2014 Impact Factors. This year saw an increase in the ranking of the journal which is published by Elsevier, with an impact factor of 1.57. 

Midwifery publishes the latest peer reviewed international research to inform the safety, quality, outcomes and experiences of pregnancy, birth and maternity care for childbearing women, their babies and families.

Professor of Evidence Based Midwifery in the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery and Editor in Chief, Dr Debra Bick, said: “Midwifery’ publishes the highest quality primary and secondary research.  Our increased ranking and the range of submissions we receive demonstrates our international profile and contribution to education, practice and research to support those working to enhance maternal and infant health.”
