Athena SWAN Silver Award accolade

Dr Louise Barriball, SWAN Champion and Julie Bliss, senior lecturer, recently collected the Faculty's Athena SWAN Silver Award after it was successful in achieving the accolade in April 2015.

The Faculty has a long tradition of promoting good practices that reflect the key principles underpinning the Athena SWAN Charter.

Dr Barriball said: "Although nursing and midwifery are female dominated professions,in the academic environment we face specific challenges to achieve our career goals. This award highlights what we have achieved already and we are committed to continuing to champion good practice to secure sustained benefits for the whole of the Faculty."
