Senior King's scientist appointed to Crick Institute research leadership role

Professor Adrian Hayday, Kay Glendinning Professor of Immunobiology and Senior Group Leader at The Francis Crick Institute has been appointed one of eight new Assistant Research Directors for the Institute.

The new role holders will take on the management of several Group Leaders and involve additional management responsibilities, such as supporting public engagement, translation, external relationships, scientific communication, strategic grant leadership and research integrity.

Professor Hayday, who is also co-lead of King’s Health Partners Clinical Academic Grouping in Genetics Rheumatology Infection Immunology & Dermatology:

‘I am delighted at the faith put in me to help the Crick develop further as a world-leading research institution, and in so doing, to strengthen London's place as a preeminent centre for innovation and training. To do this, we should make more of the immense synergies that can follow from the unique relationship between the Crick and its founders, including King's College London’.

The Francis Crick Institute is the leading biomedical research institute in Europe and is a partnership between three major funders of UK biomedical research: The Medical Research Council (MRC), The Wellcome Trust, Cancer Research UK, and three world-leading London-based University partners.
