Liberal Arts profiled by the International Herald Tribune

This weekend the International Herald Tribune - the international English-language newspaper owned by the New York Times Company, published an in-depth feature on the emergence of the UK's first Liberal Arts courses.

The piece includes interviews with Liberal Arts Programme Director Jim Bjork and Convenor Aaron Rosen, as well as students Gabrielle Cecil, Jibran Khan and Fabian Midby.

Describing the flexible and interdisciplinary course, which allows students to tailor their degree from a wide range of options in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr Bjork told the newspaper: 'we think it makes you a better historian, for example, if you spend three years having done other things than just history. It gives you a sense of what’s unique to a subject and what isn’t.'
