Announcing Professor Takis Tridimas as Chair of European Law
The Dickson Poon School of Law is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Takis Tridimas to the Chair of European Law.
Speaking of the appointment, Professor David Caron, Dean of The Dickson Poon School of Law said, ‘I’m utterly delighted to welcome Professor Tridimas to the School. King’s enjoys a long tradition of expertise and research excellence in European Law, with a thriving Centre dedicated to its critical analysis. Professor Tridimas’ background as an advisor to many EU bodies, parliament and judiciary and his rich scholarly life greatly enhances the Centre’s tradition of excellence and secures King’s position as a leader in this challenging field.’
Professor Tridimas will join the School from January 2014 - just in time to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Centre of European Law.
Professor Tridimas is currently the Sir John Lubbock Professor of Banking Law at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary University of London. He is also the Nancy A. Patterson Distinguished Faculty Scholar at Pennsylvania State University and visiting Professor at the College of Europe, Bruges, as well as barrister at Matrix Chambers.
