Standards Affecting the Conformity of the Goods: Professor provides expert opinion
Djakhongir Saidov, Professor of Commercial Law in The Dickson Poon School of Law, has recently taken part in an international conference and Advisory Council meetings on the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG).
The CISG, adopted in 1980, provides a modern, uniform and fair regime for contracts for the international sale of goods and contributes significantly to introducing certainty in commercial exchanges and decreasing transaction costs. It is a major international commercial law instrument that governs many international sales contracts around the world, having generated a substantial body of case law, has influenced law reform in many countries and legal thinking on sales and contract law.
