This event will analyse the encroachment of conflict-related flows onto metropolitan areas such as Beirut, Karachi and Medellín. It will explore the formation of disputed territories, where the presence of rogue actors poses a number of policy dilemmas. Foremost among them is the calibration of security, development and urbanistic tools to achieve stability in conflict-affected cities.
