Fellowships

Our fellowship programmes and activities have been designed to support our vision of building a community of future leaders, generating cutting edge knowledge in peace, security and development in Africa.

Degree awarding fellowships

This fellowship is available to young African scholars interested in pursuing research and academic careers in peace, security and development.

It includes post-graduate study at King’s on the Global Leadership and Peacebuilding MSc programme. Applicants will need to create a King's Apply account and apply under the Peace and Security Fellowship Programme.

The deadline to apply is 30 April, 2024, 23:59 EAT.

This fellowship is available to young African women, particularly from conflict-affected contexts, interested in pursuing research, policy and practise careers in the field/s of peace, security and development and with an emphasis on leadership.

It includes postgraduate study at King’s on the Global Leadership and Peacebuilding MSc programme. Applicants will need to create a King's Apply account and apply under the Peace and Security Fellowship Programme.

Non-degree awarding fellowships

This award is available to young African Women in the early stages of their careers seeking to deepen their knowledge and experience in the fields of Leadership, Peace, Security and Development.

It is a residential programme based at the ALC in Nairobi, Kenya. Applicants to this non-degree fellowship programme may also be considered for the Early Career Peace, Security and Development Fellowship.

The deadline to apply is 29 May 2023, 23:59 EAT.

Practice of Leadership programme

The Practice of Leadership programme ensures our students, fellows and researchers are exposed to the experiences of leaders in the fields of peace, security and development. The programme includes guest lectures, panel discussions and mentorship from practitioners from leading African institutions.
