Who is this course for?
The course is for those running Small and Medium Enterprises in Devon, Plymouth, Somerset, and Torbay. It will fit in with busy schedules and assumes no previous experience of studying AI. It is suitable for those who do not have previous experience of studying education at degree level and for those without familiarity of AI principles and concepts.
Our online delivery means you can access our course on a laptop, tablet or mobile phone from the home, the office, or anywhere you have a stable internet connection. Can't commit to the full 18 hours? Choose 12 hours of learning instead – you will still take away practical knowledge delivered in interactive sessions by AI experts at King's College London.
Learners from the following groups are particularly encouraged: women; Black, Asian and Ethnic Minorities; disabled individuals; individuals aged 50 and over.
Entry requirements
This opportunity is available to SME owners and managers who meet the following criteria:
- Fewer than 250 employees
- Based within and operating in Devon, Plymouth, Somerset, or Torbay
- Received less than £325,000 in subsidies over the past three years
A closer look at the course
This online training course will teach you the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how to apply it in your business. You'll start by understanding what AI is, its real-world uses, and the benefits and challenges of adopting it. You'll also learn about important ethical considerations, like data privacy and bias.
Next, you'll dive into data science and AI, gaining skills to identify opportunities for AI-driven data collection and analysis in your business. You'll learn to interpret AI insights and use them to inform your strategies and measure performance. The course will also introduce you to AI tools and technologies that could be adopted by small and medium-sized enterprises.
A dedicated module on prompt engineering will teach you to create effective prompts for various business needs and problem-solving. You'll explore advanced prompt techniques and the ethical use of AI.
The course consists of three online modules designed and delivered by AI specialists at King’s College London followed by 1:1 or small group sessions to help you to apply what you’ve learned to your business.
