Accommodation guarantee

At King's Residences, you have the opportunity to live and learn in a safe and collaborative environment in one of the most exciting and eclectic cities in the world.

The accommodation guarantee applies to the following groups where KCL is the firm choice (whether conditional or unconditional) for a full-time course for the 2024/25 academic year.

  • New first-year undergraduates and Foundation students*
  • Care-experienced students
  • Students who are under the age of 18 years old on move-in day (14/09/2024)

The UG guarantee applies as long as you hold an Active Registration and complete the required steps of the booking process as laid out here before the deadline of midnight 6 June 2024. Any Reactivated registrations are excluded from the guarantee. 

If you need to cancel your accommodation, the deadline to do so without charges is 23:59 on 17 May 2024 (UK time zone). Please refer to the cancellation policy for further details.

This guarantee is for individual applicants and cannot be transferred to another student. Additionally, the accommodation guarantee does not apply to room preferences (location, room type). 

*Not including Study Abroad one term only, January starters, or returning students.

Students under 18

If you will be under 18 at the time of booking, but over 18 at the start of your contract, we will require details of your parent / guardian / responsible adult as a co-signatory when your Licence Agreement (contract for your room) is generated.

King’s Residences also accepts bookings from students whose 18th birthday falls after the start of their contract. The properties available for students under the age of 18 at the point of move-in are Great Dover Street Apartments and Stamford Street Apartments. These Residences are owned and managed directly by King’s College London. As you will not yet have reached 18 years of age when your Licence Agreement (contract for your room) will be generated, we will require details of your parent / guardian / responsible adult as a co-signatory.

Places in Halls are offered on the understanding that students are self-sufficient and capable of living independently, away from home and looking after themselves in all practical matters.
