Conferences & Events

King's Academy hosts a range of events throughout the year that focus on enhancing learning and teaching. From events providing opportunities for educators to engage in discussions, workshops, and training sessions, to the recognition awards and induction sessions, our goal is to explore and promote innovative teaching methods, educational research and best practices. Designed to foster community-led professional development, our events aim to support staff in creating an enriching learning environment for colleagues across King's.

Key events include:

King's Education Conference

The Education Conference (previously called the Festival of Learning & Teaching) is King's Academy's flagship event. The Education Conference is intended to be an inclusive and welcoming space where staff from across King’s can come together to celebrate their successes and to share their ideas about teaching & learning.

We are proud that previous conferences have included submissions from staff in diverse roles and departments and given many colleagues their first opportunity to speak at a conference.

King's Education Awards

The King's Education Awards (KEA) is an annual awards celebrating teaching excellence, hosted and facilitated by King's Academy. It is a chance for King's students to nominate members of staff who have made a real difference to their King’s experience.

2025 marks 22 years for the King's Education Awards and since creation, faculties and the student panel have selected over 200 winners from thousands of nominations. Nominations for the King’s Education Awards are now open year-round, to help us capture as much King’s activity as possible. However, nominations are ring-fenced by cut-off dates to prepare for the annual Awards Ceremony, which takes place in June each year.

CPD Workshops & Events

Each year, King's Academy runs a schedule of bespoke synchronous Continuous Professional Development (CPD) opportunities that are designed to support colleagues' development outside of our core programmes, by addressing key themes in teaching and learning. The range of opportunities is structured to support colleagues' professional development at any stage of their career.

This year's schedule can be found on our internal pages
