Module description

Aims and Learning Outcomes

To cover the theory and practice of software architecture as applied to the development of software systems, including enterprise systems, mobile applications, service-based systems and microservices

On successful completion of this module, students will be able to:

  • Function as a software architect
  • Have a broad knowledge of the issues, techniques and processes involved in architecture design
  • Have an understanding of component-oriented development, and associated matters

Syllabus

This module describes principles and techniques for the architectural design of software, we will generally follow the 'clean architecture' concepts and consider architectural patterns and techniques for systems across several domains: mobile apps, enterprise information systems, service-oriented systems and safety-critical systems.
