Module description

This module aims to give students an understanding of contemporary topics at the intersection of philosophy and medicine. The module will address a range of conceptual, epistemological, and ethical issues related to medicine.  This will equip students with the tools to think critically about the nature of health and disease, and the methodology of medical science and practice.  

Assessment details

Summative assessment: one 3,500 word essay (100%).

Formative assessment: 1 x 3,000 word essay; 1 x informal 10-minute presentation

Teaching pattern

One one-hour weekly lecture and one one-hour weekly seminar over ten weeks.
