Module description

What is the module about?

The course provides an introduction to Chinese political economy, addressing topics around three broad themes: 1) the key components and features of the Chinese political system; 2) the process of economic reform and development; 3) the interactions between politics and economy. The intent is to provide you with a rich understanding of China and the knowledge needed to analyse its current and future events and/or to do business in China. 

Who should do this module?

Students who are interested in learning about the fastest-growing major economy in the world and/or planning to build a career related to the country. 

 

 

Assessment details

70% 2-hour exam

30% coursework (2,000 word essay)

2-hour lecture and tutorial combined each week
