Module description

Real time & control systems underpin much of modern technology, and their designimplementation and analysis are core competences for a modern engineer.

This module will provide students with an understanding of the issues faced in real-time and digital system control, along with knowledge of some of the methods and techniques required for solving problems in this domain.

Educational aims & objectives

  • Provide students with skills in real-time programming, analysis and design.
  • Enable analysis of timing requirements for simple real-time systems, including scheduling and schedulability.
  • Provide students with the knowledge and experience to enable the design, testing and implemention of simple digital control systems.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the module, the student will: - Have basic skills in real - time programming, analysis and design. - Be able to analyse timing requirements for simple real - time systems. - Have skills in digital control design. - Be able to test and implement a digital control system
