Module description

 

Individual instrumental or vocal lessons with a teacher from the Royal Academy of Music culminating in a performance under examination conditions of a well-balanced programme not exceeding 15 minutes. Students are expected to introduce their performances briefly and to bring copies of the scores for the examiners.

15 Minute Practical Recital Examination (67%)

Continuing assessment by RAM instrumental or vocal teacher (33%)

Teaching pattern

The module will be taught via individual instrumental or vocal tuition provided by the Royal Academy of Music, supported by occasional performance workshops at King’s. Students are entitled to 15 hours per year with a RAM Professor or advanced postgraduate teacher. Attendance at lessons is compulsory and teachers’ continuing assessments reflect progress made.
