Module description

To introduce the students to the world of project management, including techniques to evaluate, organise, plan and monitor projects

The following objectives are set for Project Management course:

  • Understand the major processes involved in creating and managing bids/proposals and managing projects and their related functions
  • Understand the stakeholders' roles in the projects
  • Explore and evaluate methodologies/techniques for selecting, planning, and executing (Waterfall and Agile) projects
  • Successfully controlling & managing a project according to the defined plan
  • Mange project outputs for delivery and from dissemination and exploitation aspects
  • Identify the factors that contribute to a project's success or failures
  • Form student teams and develop a well-defined project by each team during the course.

Written examination; coursework

Educational aims & objectives

To explore and learn the major processes involved in creating and developing a well-defined project proposal and in managing and controlling the project.

Learning outcomes

Realisation of the entire project life-cycle and practical exercise of developing a project plan which will be a designing template for students' future project plan activities in real-life working environment.
