The Old Testament is above all a theological text that contains a rich variety of theological ideas. This course is therefore intended to acquaint students with some of the major theological themes that appear in the Old Testament, and to explore each theme's distinctive characteristics. By the end of the course students should be able to appreciate both the links and the differences between the various theological strands, as well as understanding some of the influences that have contributed to the formation of those strands.
