Module description
What is the module about?
This intermediate corporate finance module builds upon your earlier knowledge and provides insights into the seminal theory behind answering some of the most important business questions from a financial perspective, such as: How will you raise capital for your business and what will this capital? Should you borrow or look for capital from investors? How much should you borrow? How much return will you create for these shareholders? Should you offer a dividend? Should you buy assets or lease? What are your businesses short-term cashflow needs and where will you get it from?
These fundamental business questions are debated in boardrooms everyday around the world and while some of the answers to these questions can be learned directly from the seminal academic theory, other aspects are more about judgements due to the unpredictability of business and therefore across the ten weeks of this course you will begin to appreciate that the application of corporate finance in the business world is as much an art, as it is a science.
