Module description

Drawing on a variety of texts from Britain, the Caribbean and South Asia, this course will investigate the theoretical developments in postcolonial studies in relation to specific historical, social, political and cultural contexts. The course is structured around four inter-related, themed sections. Particular attention has been given to contemporary postcolonial literature, to enable students to situate their study of postcolonial theory and literature in relation to current debates about race, ethnicity and religion.
