This module introduces concepts, and technologies, used in the evaluation and rehabilitation of human movement. The module is designed to train engineers to think about the performance of movement and learn about the instrumentation and techniques used to assess movement from a mechanical engineering standpoint. Whilst students will be introduced to basic muscle physiology and neural control (how muscles work and how movement is controlled), and how disability impairs movement, this module is not suitable for students seeking a clinical, physiological, or biological approach to biomechanics, disability and rehabilitation.
