Module description
This module studies some central issues in theory of knowledge. The first part of the module will focus on the distinction between knowledge and belief, the conception of knowledge as true belief + additional conditions, knowledge-first epistemology (as proposed, in particular, by Timothy Williamson), and knowledge as a mental state. The second part of the module will focus on religious epistemology, discussing some contemporary approaches to the rational justification of religious belief (especially Reformed Epistemology, Alvin Plantinga, and William Alston).
Core texts will be available via KEATS and/or My Reading List.
