Module description
Based on a close reading of key texts over ten lectures and seminars, this course will examine certain selected topics in seventeenth- and eighteenth-century philosophy. The focus will commonly tend to be on the metaphysical/epistemological side of the subject, although ethical, political, scientific, and religious theories will also sometimes be discussed. The specific topics under consideration will vary from year to year, according to the research expertise of the person teaching the module, but will be announced in advance.
