The module will provide the students with an understanding of the foundation, application and implementation of a suite of numerical tools for solving modelling problems.
Coursework 50%

The lectures and tutorial will consist primarily of applying, analysing and implementing foundational numerical algorithms. In addition, independent ability to write programs for numerical methods will be further developed through coursework. Awareness of the limitations of numerical computing, theoretical connection of algorithms to Taylor series, and good programming practices will be running themes.
On completion of the course the students should be able to:
