Syllabus:
Holomorphic functions, Laurent series, residue calculus, conformal maps.
Assessment details
Written examination.
Exercises or quizzes will be set each week to be handed in the following week. These problems will be discussed in the tutorials and solutions will be available.
Educational aims & objectives
This module will provide a detailed introduction to complex function theory which interrelates the geometric and analytic aspects. A principal goal is Cauchy’s famous integral theorem and its many consequences.
Learning outcomes
Be able to use residue calculus and to apply it to computation of concrete integrals.

Three hours of lectures and one hour of tutorial per week throughout the term
