Module description
This innovative module combines classroom discussion with visits to medieval and medievalist sites, objects, collections and buildings in London. It studies medieval London and how that city displayed and curated its past, and simultaneously studies the contemporary frames and discourses in which the medieval city is made visible, and to tell national, local and spiritual histories. It is particularly interested in the religious, racial and cultural diversity of London’s past and the ways in which that diversity is represented - or obscured - in the present day.
