Briefly, tell us about your background and experience up to this point?
I am trained as a medical doctor, and my interest lies within dermatology and clinical research. I completed the MSc in Clinical Dermatology at King's in 2022 and then joined the Unit for Paediatric & Population-Based Dermatology Research of St John’s Institute of Dermatology, led by Professor Carsten Flohr. Currently, I am working on the UK-Irish Atopic Eczema Register (A-STAR) and DREAM TO TREAT Atopic Dermatitis studies.
What is a typical day at King’s like for you?
My routine varies and includes working on study management and project coordination, data analysis, pharmacovigilance responsibilities as well as some clinical work. As I am based at St Thomas’ Hospital, I can enjoy the fantastic view other the Thames and Big Ben every day 😊
What do you do with your time outside academia/work?
I enjoy pilates, yoga, hiking, traveling and exploring London.
Who inspires you most and why?
Our young patients with eczema and their families bring me so much inspiration and joy. They are very brave, resilient, curious and funny. They help us so much by participating in research studies and providing invaluable information and patient perspective. I feel motivated and driven when I see how I could make a difference in their lives one day.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
My studies at King's wouldn't be possible without receiving the Chevening Scholarship. It allowed me to pursue the degree of my dreams, and to become a member of this community of brilliant people from all over the world.
Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?
I am passionate about observational clinical research and real-world evidence in the field of chronic inflammatory skin diseases. I would like to develop my skills in this field further and work towards generating high-quality, real-world data on effectiveness and safety systemic therapies in skin diseases, aiming to improve the standards of care for patients with dermatological conditions.
