The Centre is involved in a wide range of research projects related to the intersection of science and security, with a focus on CBRN security and proliferation, and in association with a number of partners.

In each of the research strands provided below, CSSS members are producing academically rigorous and policy-relevant research. More information on recent publications can be found here. Current and past funders include the Carnegie Corporation of New York, MacArthur Foundation, the Leverhulme Trust, the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO), the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), the European Commission, and the US State Department.
