Research
The Informatics Department houses a wide range of research, including artificial intelligence and robotics, cybersecurity, and human-centred computing – and we are committed to sharing this work through a variety of programmes.
We are developing a number of projects that work with school groups, and we are keen to support young people from all backgrounds who might be interested in studying computer science or artificial intelligence in our department.
Are you interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics)? Then come along to our monthly STEM Lectures for Schools! The fascinating topics covered in these talks will take you beyond what you're taught in the classroom, showcasing just some of the ideas you might study in a STEM degree at university. At each event, a different speaker will highlight the ground-breaking work they do here at King’s, as well as exploring their personal journey in STEM.
Are you a Year 10 student and interested in STEM? Then apply to take part in our work experience week, running from Monday 8 – Friday 12 July 2024! You'll spend a week in the Faculty of Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences (NMES), exploring different STEM topics and meeting a wide range of scientists and engineers.
Sponsorship opportunities for student projects relevant to your organisation.
