Join us for King's College London's Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience's flagship event to mark World Mental Health Day 2023, which will explore lived experiences of psychosis.

The Directors, produced by Artangel, is a collaboration between artist Marcus Coates and individuals in recovery from different lived experiences of psychosis. Positioned behind the camera, each of them directs Coates in a filmed restaging of particular episodes from their lives. From the series of five films, a screening of The Directors: Marcus will be followed by a panel discussion between the artist, experts by experience and contributions from medical, psychiatric and care fields.

The event will take place in the Wolfson Lecture Theatre, and will draw out the themes of World Mental Health Day 2023; mental health as a Universal Human Right and the duty of society to promote that. The event will conclude with a drinks reception.

For more information about The Directors please visit the Artangel website here.

What's Going On? is a resources hub created to highlight and share The Directors and associated background materials as a free educational resource: for example, in medical, psychiatric and care settings as well as in judicial education. It will continue to be updated with research, resources and conversations. Explore the What's Going On resources hub here.
